Why do I need an OpenAI API secret key?

For this Google Sheets Add-on to work, you need to create an OpenAI account (https://platform.openai.com/signup) and then create an API Key so that the consumption is directly linked to your account. You will need to top up credit (min $5).

I already have ChatGPT Plus, so why is it not working ?

Billing of ChatGPT Plus is completely separate from OpenAI API. For external apps or add-on to work, it is required to use an API. Therefore, you need to login to (https://platform.openai.com/) and then create an API Key so that the consumption is directly linked to your account. You will need to top up credit (min $5).

How to generate ads ?

1) Describe your product/service in a few words in the “prompt” 2) Choose the level of creativity in your ads 3) Add a main keyword that needs to be included in several headlines/descriptions 4) Choose the tone of voice and the writing style 5) Select the number of headlines/descriptions you want to generate (more you generate, more credit you will use) 6) Go to Menu “Extensions”, “GPT for Google Ads”, “Generate Ads”

How do I add my OpenAI API secret key ?

Once you have installed the Google Sheets Add-on, you need to go to the menu “Extensions”, “ChatGPT for Google Ads”, “OpenAI”, “Enter OpenAI API Secret Key”.

Why do some cells get highlighted in orange ?

While this Add-on optimizes OpenAI outputs in order to matches ads specifications at best, it cannot always control the length of ads created by the AI. The highlighted cells warns you about headlines/descriptions that exceeds the number of characters allowed by Google Ads. You can therefore make slight changes or just discard them.

How do I copy the ads generated to Google Ads?

This template the ads are generated in is optimized for Google Ads Editor. Once the ads have been generated, you just need to copy all the content beginning at cell A14 until the last column and the last line where it has been generated. Once copied, open Google Ads editor, load the right account, select “Ads”, “Responsive Search Ads”, then click “Make multiple changes” and paste.
